The Open Boat book will soon be going to a second printing! The new printer prints on demand in several locations around the world so there will be a huge saving on postal costs outside Australia. More than two hundred pages on the origin, evolution and construction of the Australian 18-Footer. You can purchase your copy right here to be posted to you, or if in Sydney you can pick up a copy on the shelves at Boat Books Australia in Crows Nest. Postage will be A$15 for destinations in Australia and anywhere else in the world except the EU. We regret we cannot supply books to EU countries from this website. If you reside in an EU country the best way is to get your friendly local bookstore to order direct from the British printer Ingram Spark using the ISBN 978-0-6481386-0-0.

You haven’t given a postage price to New Zealand. Where else are 18’s of that era built and raced. It’s ok, you won the cricket.

Hi Ross, only just found your comment, still finding my way around 21st century technology. Check the site again, NZ postage should be up, $17. Regards, Ian Smith

This is a bit of a mixed review. I purchased the electronic version and was very happy with the content. The big disappointment a number of the drawings were blurry, or out of focus. Is the print book also this way? If so I will be content with the e-book. I would like a print version, though. Great job in general.

Hi Terry, Sorry I missed your comment until today. Also sorry your drawings are blurry, I can only blame differences in computers. I will get my webmaster to look into it. The drawings in the printed version are clear. Cheers,
      Ian Smith
